TEMPORARY CLOSURE It is with a very heavy heart I write this today. I had hoped I would be sending out my very first newsletter to update you on all the wonderful new changes to Hills Myotherapy over the last year but, alas, no. Over the past week and a half, I have wrestled with how to best continue to provide my service to you during this unprecedented time. Whilst I always adhere to best practice infection control procedures, I'd planned and implemented more stringent measures, completed the government training on COVID 19 infection control, spacing out appointments, and more, but I feel this still will not be enough to keep you safe. With respect to maintaining social distancing, unfortunately, my arms just don't have the same reach as inspector gadget's go-go gadget arms. With health care at the forefront of our minds, the best care that I can give to you now is to close my doors, as difficult as that is. With this said, Hills Myotherapy will be closed effective immediately, until further notice. Even after the PM's address last night where health related manual therapy is exempt from shut-down, I feel it is irresponsible to remain open. As we now know there is asymptomatic community spread of COVID 19 with up to 14 day before the onset of symptoms. What does this mean? COVID 19 can be transmitted anytime during this 14 day incubation period when you may be feeling fit and well. Even with implementing increased infection control measures and PPE (which is in short supply and front-line health needs it more), there is no way for me to completely eliminate the risk of unknowingly passing on the virus to you, me, my family and anyone else we may incidentally come into contact with, putting those who are most vulnerable in danger. If you have an appointment booked in the coming weeks, I'll be in touch. All voucher expiry dates will be extended from when I reopen. Please know that I'm always available to you by phone and email, and more than happy to give advice or even just have a chat. If there is anything I can do to help you in an advisory online set-up, I will look in to it and keep you posted. Please reach out if you need to discuss your care: You can reach me on 0409 043 564 or judy@hillsmyotherapy.com With such a difficult time for all of us, stay positive, stay in touch with your friends and family, check on your neighbours, be kind to each other, and stay safe. For now I'm off to spend some time gardening and wrap my head around home-schooling! I'll see you soon and thank you so much for your ongoing support. Judy x P.S.
